COMPANY OVERVIEW
YUDU began as a digital publishing solutions provider, developing innovative technology to support the creative industry. The company’s strategic shift into resilience technology was sparked by a real-world event: a fire at a customer’s premises that prevented access to critical files.
Recognising the urgent need for offline access to essential information, YUDU designed and launched Sentinel: a cloud-based SaaS platform that provides business continuity and crisis communication capabilities.
The platform enables organisations to maintain secure access to vital documents and communication channels during major incidents including cyber-attacks, power outages, severe weather events, and other operational disruptions.
GROWTH JOURNEY
- Early customers have remained long-term partners, evolving alongside the platform and its resilience capabilities.
- Active involvement with the Business Continuity Institute (BCI) has supported ongoing innovation in resilience technology.
- Achieved ISO 27001 certification pre-Covid, driving a major step-change in security focus and enabling growth through highly regulated clients.
- Successfully completed an FCA audit, strengthening internal governance and trust.
- Participation in the DiSH (Digital Security Hub) programme refined the company’s cyber positioning and market strategy.
- Development of a core USP: “Out-of-Bounds Communications”, leading to a secure crisis communications chat solution.
- In 2025: Represented Lancashire’s cyber ecosystem at CyberUK in partnership with Plexal.
- Retains strong business continuity functionality but is increasingly focused on cyber resilience and secure communication.
- Actively pursuing investment to scale its cyber technology offering.
- YUDU Sentinel won the BCI Europe Awards 2025 and is now entered into the global category.
LANCASHIRE ECOSYSTEM SUPPORT
- Lancashire Digital Hub and local ecosystem leaders from Northern Reach have been strong advocates for the company’s growth.
- Plexal-led workshops and events in the region have supported upskilling and industry exposure.
- Support from LCC's Fhunded programme, particularly around investment readiness and networking, has strengthened the company’s fundraising strategy.
- Highly engaged in Lancashire’s tech and cyber events landscape, contributing to — and benefiting from — a thriving local cluster.
“Lancashire and the North West are excellent places to grow a cyber business, with Plexal’s involvement and the emergence of the NCF bringing world-class expertise into the region. I’m excited to be in an environment that truly values cyber skills, where knowledge transfer is strong and ambition is shared. Lancashire is a fast-growing cyber security cluster, and we’re proud to be part of it.”
