About us
The Lancashire Cyber Partnership
Our Vision
Lancashire is a significant actor in cyber, primed to support a thriving, collaborative, and interdisciplinary, cyber ecosystem, and is uniquely positioned to be a natural home for the UK's cyber sector.
The exceptional combination of academia, local government and private industry, alongside the National Cyber Force, soon to be homed in Samlesbury, puts Lancashire at the forefront of delivering cyber capacity and capability for the nation, as well as a world-leading destination for cyber businesses, investors, careers, training and innovation.
The county is also an anchor for the NW Cyber Corridor
Our vision is for Lancashire to become a world leader in cyber, delivering national level capacity and capability, at the heart of a flourishing and nationally significant digital economy.
Our Partnership
The Lancashire Cyber Partnership is a collection of organisations of influence, responsible for significant local investment and impact, with a shared goal of delivering this vision.
Our core partners are BAE Systems, Lancashire County Council, Lancaster University, the University of Lancashire and the National Cyber Force (NCF). NCF is a pioneering partnership between defence and intelligence, which operates to disrupt activities of those using cyberspace to do harm to the UK. It draws together personnel from GCHQ, the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (Dstl), and Secret Intelligence Service (SIS).
Its move to Samlesbury in Lancashire is an exciting opportunity to help grow technology, digital and defence sectors, and encourage partnerships between Government, industry and education in our region.
The LCP recognises that achieving sustained economic growth requires strategic leadership, collaboration and effort. Therefore, we will use our social gravity proactively to intervene, influence and inspire others to be part of Lancashire’s high-value, high-skilled and highly-inclusive contribution to the UK cyber economy.
We are a recognised leader within a wider cyber and digital ecosystem, exploiting artificial intelligence and data to support high growth industry sectors. We will use our experience and networks to build compelling, collaborative and innovative relationships with like-minded partners both nationally and internationally.
We reach out to people of all ages and backgrounds to inspire them to participate in, and benefit from, Lancashire’s thriving cyber sector. We will highlight opportunities for worthwhile, lifelong careers in their local area, creating wealth locally so that communities can thrive.
We invite others in cyber, digital and adjacent industries to reach out and get involved, as we aspire to attract the best talent, and further investment, to the region.
